Web 2.0 Fundamentals

I created a Linkedin account years ago and after never using it, I deleted it. I don’t see the need for me to use it at this time. I did create another account for the purpose of the assignment. For the little time I spent on the site, it was easy to create and easy to search. If I was concerned about networking for a new job or career, Linkedin would be more useful for me. The site appears to be more attractive and updated from the last time I visited years ago.
Facebook Messenger
Most of my messaging is via text message. I have a few group messages on my phone that have been going on for at least a year for some. I use Facebook Messenger occasionally. I turned off the notifications to it after having a few groups get out of control with messages. The one thing I don’t understand and dislike about the Facebook messenger is that it has to be opened separately on my phone instead of it being easily accessible from the Facebook app.
Skype
Skype is something my family uses occasionally. My three-year-old daughter likes to call my wife at work and enjoys being able to see her. We also used Facetime on our Apple phones until my wife switched to a Samsung phone. We then found the Hangouts app that worked on our phones and computers. Skype is easy to use and most of our family members across the country still use Skype whenever they want to see us. If they would consider Hangouts, we would probably stop using Skype completely.

Podcastalley.com or Podcast.com
Choosing between podcastalley.com and podcast.com was easy. Podcast.com appears to be out of service now and the domain is available to purchase. I found podcastalley.com easy to navigate and not overwhelming. There are plenty of podcast to choose from that range from technology news and reviews to music reviews.

Geek News Central is a great podcast filled with tech news. They offer reviews on new tech products, software, and games. Going through the archived podcast, I noticed a lot of the discussions on new products, websites, and business moves were up to date and not old news.
